1920’s Home – Heritage Aluminium Windows and Doors, Battersea, London

The Property

This impressive late-1920s semi-detached family home in Battersea, North West London, required a glazing solution that would enhance its period character while meeting modern performance expectations.

The Requirement

The client was seeking a premium aluminium glazing system for the entire property, including the original house and a newly designed rear extension. The priority was to achieve authentic period aesthetics through ultra-slim sightlines that faithfully echoed the classic metal windows of the 1920s.
Equally important was outstanding thermal efficiency and robust security, ensuring a future-proof solution that fully complies with current Building Regulations without compromising on style.

The Solution

Following several visits to our showroom, the client selected our Alitherm Heritage aluminium windows and doors, celebrated for their slim profiles, elegant proportions, and exceptional performance. Working closely with the client, we carefully tailored the specification to suit both the traditional architecture and the contemporary elements of the home.

At ground-floor level, Heritage French doors were installed to create a refined connection between the interior living spaces and the garden. Their slim frames and balanced proportions maximise natural light while preserving the period aesthetic, delivering a classic look with modern functionality.

In the upper bedroom, a Heritage bifold door was specified to open the space fully and frame elevated views, flooding the room with daylight. This innovative application demonstrates the versatility of the Heritage system, offering the benefits of a contemporary opening solution without detracting from the character of the property.

The completed project highlights how seamlessly our Heritage glazing can unite traditional and modern design, providing timeless style, improved energy efficiency, enhanced security, and a beautifully crafted finish that adds lasting value to the home.
