Early 70’s Property Renovation, Windermere Contemporary Glazing

The Property:

Located in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, this early 1970s property has been transformed through a comprehensive remodelling and extension programme, reimagining the original structure as a refined contemporary home that responds directly to its exceptional setting.

Originally typical of its era, the house offered generous proportions but lacked the spatial fluidity, natural light and strong connection to the landscape expected of modern living.

The Requirement:

Thermally efficient aluminium glazing with modern framework was necessary to complement the overall style of the refurbishment plan. An extremely important detail was to create shaped windows with full-height glass on the new top floor to provide uninterrupted views to the west

The Solution:

Our EcoFutural window system ticked all the boxes for style and performance and allowed us to push the boundaries for the required large shaped glass areas whilst ensuring compliance to safety.  The Alitherm 400 thermally broken aluminium door system was selected to enhance the contemporary design and deliver excellent security performance.
