Aluminium Properties

Aluminium is a light weight and high strength material which allows it to be used in virtually every facet of the construction industry.

It is incredibly malleable allowing it to be shaped into countless designs. Aluminium is very durable and highly resistant to rust or corrosion caused by modern industrial pollutants and it requires very little, long term maintenance.

The life span of aluminium products is measured in decades rather than years.

Abundant Aluminium Reserves

Aluminium is the third most abundant material on earth after oxygen and silicon, making up 8% of the earths’ crust. The current reserves are estimated to last for at least 400 years without factoring in recycled aluminium.

Due to the fact that aluminium is endlessly recyclable the global reserves become effectively, infinite.

The most sustainable building material

Aluminium is arguably the most sustainable building material in the world and is also highly recyclable.

The recycling process creates high quality aluminium which loses none of the physical properties of primary aluminium and also uses just 5% of the energy it takes to create primary aluminium.

This is why aluminium in generally regarded as the world’s most sustainable building material.

Thank-you Marlin Windows for a great job! You designed and built all the windows in our renovation project including sliding doors and bi-folds with care and consideration.

From our first contact with Adrian through to the final fitting, the service was exceptional, no request was too much trouble.

Long Life

Aluminium as a building material is exceptionally durable, requiring little long term maintenance. It is resistant to corrosion and common industrial pollutants giving aluminium products a much longer life cycle even in extreme environmental conditions.

The EAA calls aluminium a ‘cradle to cradle’ material because although a product may have an end of life, aluminium as a material can be continually recycled and manufactured into new products.

4 years have passed since our entire house was kitted out with new doors and Windows. We chose Marlin after seeing the effort they went through to create a quality product and recieving educated advice what best suited our needs.

The choice to go with Marlin pays us back every day. Great advice on what Window type & glass treatment to use, excellent product and build, and good communication. 4 years on, I feel we made the right choice. Recommended.

Minimal Long Term Environmental Impact

The use of sustainable building materials is only one part of the answer to the environmental issues that affect us all. By using aluminium products you are choosing a material whose production has minimal long term impact to the environment, is sustainable in terms of hundreds of years and endlessly recyclable.

Aluminium can rightly be said to be the ultimate building material and the building material of choice for the future.
