What is UKCA Marking?
The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). UKCA Marking replaces the European CE Marking directive for any applicable products that are or will be placed in the GB market.
- Mandatory for NEW applicable products placed on the GB market from 1st January 2021.
- Mandatory for ALL applicable products placed on the GB market from 1st January 2022.
The UKCA mark shows that supplied external windows and doors are declared compliant with required performance characteristics, in addition to health, environmental and safety protection requirements of the aforementioned harmonised product standard.
Local Authority Building Control and Trading Standards have made it clear that they will be making sure all new doors and windows carry the UKCA mark.
