C system – magnetic control

The C system, designed with the rotational, frontal, magnetic control for raising and tilting a blind integrated within a double-glazed unit, utilises the force produced by two coupled, rotational, magnetic devices.

One set of magnets is inserted in the blind head rail within the cavity and the other applied to the external glass surface. Built in Blinds for Sliding Patio Doors

SV system – Cordless slider

The ScreenLine® SL20SV system is a manually operated sliding Venetian blind which features a single, cleverly designed magnetic slider to control the whole operation.

Positioned on a narrow slide guide on the edge of the sealed unit, this allows the blind to be raised, lowered and tilted with ease completely cord free. Built in Blinds for Sliding Patio Doors

S system – Slider

The ScreenLine® SL20S is a manual system comprising a 14mm pleated blind integrated within a double-glazed unit with 20mm cavity.

The blind movement is achieved by a magnetic device positioned centrally on the outer surface of the internal pane sliding across the glass surface.

This external magnet interfaces with a similar internal magnet located in the movable rail and it is so designed to absorb possible glass deflections.

What are built-in blinds for sliding doors, and how do they work?

Built-in blinds feature Venetian blinds sealed within the glazing cavity of a sliding patio door. These blinds are operated using external magnetic controls, allowing users to raise, lower or tilt them without touching the blinds directly. This design protects the blinds from dust and damage, ensuring longevity and ease of use.

What are the benefits of built-in blinds with sliding doors?

Integral blinds offer several advantages:

  • Low maintenance: Being enclosed within glass, built-in blinds remain dust-free and require no regular cleaning.

  • Enhanced safety: No external cords make them child and pet-safe.

  • Sleek appearance: The integrated design provides a modern, clutter-free look.

  • Improved durability: Protected from external elements, integral blinds are less prone to damage than traditional blinds.

  • Efficient light and temperature control: They help in managing glare and indoor temperatures effectively .

Are built-in blinds available for all types of sliding doors?

Built-in integral blinds are typically available for double-glazed sliding doors, including aluminium lift and slide doors and sliding patio doors. These blinds are custom-fitted within sealed glass units, so availability may depend on the door system’s specifications.
